Privacy Policy
In short. We collect only what we need to answer business enquiries, arrange demos and keep this website secure.
- This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or tracking tools.
- Our visitor statistics are cookie-free and do not identify you.
- We never sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
- We only send you news and offers if you ask for them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing privacy@secancy.com.
1. Who we are
This website, secancy.com, is operated by Secancy ("we", "us" or "our"). The company that operates Secancy is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means it decides how and why the data is used. Its details are at the end of this policy.
For any privacy question or request, email privacy@secancy.com.
2. Who this policy covers
Secancy is a business to business technology provider. This website is meant for people who work for, or are evaluating, casino and sportsbook operators and related businesses. It does not offer gambling and is not meant for children. This policy covers:
- visitors to this website
- people who book a demo or contact us
- people who apply for a job with us
- contacts at our partners, prospects and suppliers
It does not cover the players of casino or sportsbook brands that run on our platform. Each operator is responsible for its own players' data and publishes its own privacy policy. Where we process player data for an operator, we do so as its processor under a separate written agreement.
3. What we collect and why
When you visit the website
Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical data when your browser requests a page. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. We use it to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix problems.
We also measure how the website is used with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views, referring websites, broad location (country), device type and page load performance. It does not use cookies or local storage, does not create a profile of you and does not track you across other websites. We only see totals, never individual visitors.
When you book a demo or contact us
Our demo form asks for your name, work email, company, the solution you are interested in, your target market and an optional message. We use these details to:
- reply to you, usually within one business day
- arrange and hold your demo or call
- prepare a written proposal or quote if you ask for one
- follow up about your enquiry and keep a record of our conversations
- understand which markets and products interest businesses like yours, so we can plan our services
To protect the form from spam and automated abuse, it uses Cloudflare Turnstile and limits how many requests can be sent from one connection in a short time. Turnstile checks signals from your browser and device, such as your IP address and browser characteristics, to tell people and bots apart. It does not show you advertising and Cloudflare does not use this data for advertising.
If you email us directly or speak to us on a call, we keep the information you share with us, such as your contact details and what we discussed.
News and offers
Our demo form has an optional box you can tick to receive occasional news and offers from Secancy. If you tick it, we may email you about our products, new features, market insights, events and offers. Booking a demo does not depend on it.
We keep a record of your choice, including when you made it and the wording you agreed to. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and you can also unsubscribe by emailing privacy@secancy.com. Once you unsubscribe, we stop straight away and keep only what we need to make sure we do not email you again. We do not share your details with any other company for its own marketing.
When you apply for a job
If you apply by email, we receive your CV and anything else you send, such as a cover letter, portfolio or links. We use it only to assess your application, contact you and run our hiring process. Please do not send sensitive information, such as health details or identity documents, unless we ask for it later in the process for a specific legal reason.
Business relationships
If you work for a partner, prospect or supplier, we keep your business contact details and our communications to manage the relationship, meet our contractual duties and keep proper business records.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
- We do not send you marketing emails unless you ask for them, and we do not share your details with other companies for their marketing.
- We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. Turnstile's automated check only decides whether a form submission looks like a bot.
4. Our legal bases
Where data protection laws such as the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the EU General Data Protection Regulation apply, we rely on these legal bases.
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Delivering and securing the website, including spam protection | Our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website |
| Cookie-free visitor statistics | Our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used |
| Replying to enquiries and arranging demos | Steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries |
| Following up and planning our services | Our legitimate interest in developing our business |
| Reviewing job applications | Steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in hiring |
| Sending news and offers from Secancy | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Keeping records and meeting legal duties | Compliance with our legal obligations |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed them against your rights and expectations. You can ask us for details of that assessment and you can object at any time (see section 8).
5. Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run this website and our business. They process personal data only on our instructions, under written data processing terms, and must keep it secure.
| Provider | What they do for us | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosts and delivers the website, protects it from attacks, runs Turnstile spam protection and provides cookie-free Web Analytics | Technical data, browser and device signals, the contents of the demo form while it is processed |
| Resend | Delivers your demo request to our team as an email, and sends our news and offers if you asked for them | Your name, email address, the details you entered in the form and your email preferences |
| Our business email and productivity provider | Hosts our team's email, calendars and documents, where enquiries and applications are received and stored | Your messages, contact details and anything you send us |
| Video call provider | Hosts demos and calls, using the meeting link we send you | Your name, email address and what you share during the call |
You can read how these providers handle data in their own policies, including the Cloudflare Privacy Policy, the Turnstile Privacy Addendum and the Resend Privacy Policy.
We may also share personal data with our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, with authorities when the law requires it, and with a buyer or successor if our business is reorganised or sold. In every case we share only what is needed.
6. International transfers
Our team works remotely across several countries, and some of our providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside your own. When personal data protected by UK or EU law is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we use approved safeguards. These include the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, or a provider's certification under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
7. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above.
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Demo requests and enquiries that do not lead to a contract | Up to 24 months after our last contact with you |
| News and offers | Until you unsubscribe, or 24 months after you last opened or clicked one of our emails. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-contact list |
| Partner and supplier records | For the relationship, then up to 7 years for legal, tax and accounting reasons |
| Job applications | Up to 12 months after the role is filled, or longer if you agree we can consider you for future roles |
| Email delivery logs at Resend | A short period under Resend's retention settings, then deleted |
| Hosting and security logs at Cloudflare | A short period under Cloudflare's retention settings, for security and troubleshooting |
| Web Analytics | Aggregated totals that do not identify anyone |
We may keep data longer if the law requires it or to deal with a legal claim. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know whether we hold data about you and get a copy of it
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- have your data deleted
- restrict how we use it
- object to our use of it, including for direct marketing at any time
- receive it in a portable format
- withdraw your consent where we rely on it, without affecting earlier use
These rights exist under laws including the EU and UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD, Peru's Personal Data Protection Law, Chile's data protection law, Mexico's federal data protection law, South Africa's POPIA, Nigeria's Data Protection Act and Kenya's Data Protection Act. We honour valid requests wherever you are.
To make a request, email privacy@secancy.com. We will reply within one month, or sooner where your local law requires. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. Making a request is free.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Our lead authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom (ico.org.uk). You can also contact the authority where you live or work.
Notice for California residents
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. The categories of data we collect, the sources, the purposes and the providers we disclose it to are described in sections 3 and 5.
9. Security
We protect personal data with technical and organisational measures that suit the risk. These include encrypted connections across the website, spam and bot protection on our forms, secret keys kept outside our code, restricted access for our team on a need-to-know basis, and two-factor sign-in on the systems that hold your data. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your data and puts you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
10. Other things you should know
- Age. This website is for adults acting in a business capacity. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think we have, contact us and we will delete it.
- Data you give us about others. If you share details about colleagues, for example to invite them to a demo, please make sure they are happy for you to do so.
- Other websites. Links to other websites are not covered by this policy. Please read their own privacy policies.
- Cookies. Our Cookie Policy explains the small number of security cookies that Cloudflare may set.
11. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will tell you by email or with a clear notice on the website.
