How to start an online casino in Latin America
A practical guide to launching a casino brand in Latin America, from choosing your markets to payments, content and going live.

Latin America is one of the fastest-growing regions in online gaming. Players are young, mobile and passionate about football. Payments are moving online quickly, and several countries have introduced or updated their gaming rules in the last few years.
That makes it an attractive region for new operators. It also means the details matter. This guide walks through the decisions you will make on the way to launch, in the order you will usually make them.
1. Choose your markets first
Latin America is a region of very different markets. Each country has its own rules, payment habits and player preferences, so the first step is deciding where you want to operate.
Some countries have fully regulated online markets with national licences. Brazil, for example, opened a regulated betting and gaming market in 2025. Others, such as Mexico, Colombia and Peru, have their own permit or licence systems. In some countries rules are set at a provincial level, as in Argentina.
Before you invest in a brand, answer three questions for each target market.
- Is online casino and sports betting permitted, and under what kind of licence?
- Which payment methods do players actually use?
- Which languages and sports matter most to your audience?
Regulation changes often, so take local legal advice before you commit to a market. A good platform partner will also tell you plainly which markets they can support today.
2. Decide how you will launch
There are two common ways to launch a casino brand.
White Label. Your brand runs under your provider’s licence, and the provider handles the platform, payments, KYC and player support. This is the fastest route and needs the least upfront investment. It suits entrepreneurs, affiliates and media brands that already have an audience.
Turnkey. You hold your own licence and run operations yourself, with the provider supplying the platform, content and back office. This takes longer and costs more at the start, but gives you full control.
Many operators start with White Label to prove the brand, then move to Turnkey once they have scale. We cover the trade-offs in detail in our guide to white label vs turnkey.
3. Get payments right
Payments decide whether a player deposits or leaves. In Latin America, cards are only part of the picture. Players often prefer instant bank transfers, cash vouchers paid in store, and local wallets. Crypto is also popular with some audiences.
Plan for three things.
- Local methods in local currency. Players trust the methods they already use every day.
- Fast withdrawals. Slow payouts are the quickest way to lose a player’s trust.
- Approval rates. Work with a partner who routes payments to the providers most likely to approve them.

4. Build a content mix for your audience
Football is the heart of betting in Latin America, so a strong sportsbook matters. Local leagues, the big European leagues and international tournaments drive most of the activity, and in-play betting is growing fast.
On the casino side, slots lead, with live casino close behind. Crash and instant games have become hugely popular with mobile players because rounds are short and easy to follow.
A game aggregator gives you access to thousands of titles through one integration, so you can curate the lobby per market without signing dozens of separate contracts. Our guide to what a game aggregator does explains how this works.
5. Design for mobile first
Most players in the region play on their phones, often on mid-range devices and mobile data. Your site should load quickly, use as little data as possible, and make deposits easy with one hand.
Choose a template that was designed for mobile from the start, then apply your brand. Test it on real devices in your target markets before you launch.
6. Plan your launch and your first 90 days
A typical White Label launch takes four to six weeks once you sign. Use that time well.
- Prepare your brand assets, domain and launch campaign.
- Agree your welcome offer and bonus rules.
- Line up your marketing channels, such as affiliates, social media and influencers, within local advertising rules.
- Set targets for registrations, first deposits and retention.
The first 90 days teach you more than any plan. Watch which games and payment methods your players choose, then adjust your lobby and promotions.
7. Build responsibility in from day one
Strong responsible gaming practices protect players and protect your brand. Age verification, deposit limits, reality checks and self-exclusion should be standard on your site from the first day. Regulators across the region expect it, and players notice it. Our guide to responsible gaming for new operators covers the essentials.
